16 months-a week late

I really did have every intention of writing on Lydia's 16 month day but life got in the way! Ok, all about Lydia :) She is still a little peanut, weighing in at around 21 pounds! Her brother was almost 5 pounds more at this age! At times both Ryan and I agree that she is a mini-me to Jack. Lots of the same personality traits...Loves to climb on things, the table, couch, really anything. She LOVES being outside, just like Jack did at this age. We will be sad when the weather gets colder and we cant be out as much. She is running, no longer just walking. Like Jack, she also has gotten into walking on her toes while inside. She is a great eater and loves to use a spoon like a big girl. Her language development is what I think (i could be biased) is out of this world...Jack had a big vocabulary around 18 months but at just 16 months, Lydia is putting together 2-3 words at a time. For example, this weekend we were visiting my parents. After Stephanie shared a bite of a cookie with Lydia, Lydia walked up to my mom and said "I want cookie." She knows and can say all of the names of the kids that are at daycare and will say bye, Kenna, bye Avery...ect as they leave with their parents! I am just amazed at her vocabulary! Although along with her many words, one of those is the dreaded "mine or me." One thing that Lydia does that Jack rarely did, is proclaim her ownership over everything and anything that she thinks belongs to her. She can get a little sassy and has had a few more tantrums than Jack ever had at this age! (hers are WAY more dramatic too, laying on the floor, rolling around, kind of tantrums--maybe it is a girl thing?) Even with the sassy she is still a little sweetie...loves to cuddle and snuggle, give lots of hugs and is always loving up on her big brother (who is her best friend.) We are just so lucky to have this lady adding a little spunk to our household everyday :)
