So as you can see from the little ticker thing on the side of the blog, I am only two very short days away from my due date. It should be exciting but like most first time moms, I was told last night that I am going to go over my due date :( This little guy seems to really have Ryan's stubborn personality down already! For a few weeks he wanted to come early and now he decided that he would rather be closer to 9lbs so he is going to try and wait it out another week! (much to his moms dismay!)
Last night at my doctors appointment we did quite a few extra tests to make sure everything is going good in there. Being this close to the end of the pregnancy, my OB wanted to make sure that it is safe for the baby to "cook" for another week. Sometimes the placenta starts to "die" and it is not worth keeping the baby in there at that point. Everything appears to look really good with him..He is playing tricks on both the doctor and me as he will be so far dropped that she can feel his head and then the next appointment she can't get anywhere near him! (again, Ryan's personality ;) With my history of Grave's disease and the increasing blood pressure, my OB said that if he isn't here by next week at my appointment (tue) , I will be setting up a day to get induced! For the longest time I have been all about letting things happen naturally but at this point, I almost begged her to do induce me yesterday! So, hopefully he will decide to come on his own......
Other then that things are OK here. Ryan is still getting into the routine of his new job. I think he likes it but he keeps saying that it is very different then what he was doing before. I am sure it just takes some getting used to after working at the same place for 9 years! I am still working and hoping to up until I have this baby! It is very tempting to start my maternity leave early but I want to be able to really spend the full 12 weeks with the baby and not just waiting for him to come.
We don't really have any plans for the 4th since it would be a good idea to stick kind of close to home. I have been pretty daring going to weddings and grad parties the last few weeks but my doctor recommended that we stay closer this week--just in case. Well, that is about it! Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!
