HI Everyone! I have a few updates from over the last couple days.....Where to start!
On Monday Ryan and I primed the baby's room-it already looks totally different! I have some pictures of Ryan painting that I will post tomorrow! Our plan is to paint this weekend and then do some cleaning in the room and start putting up furniture! I am so excited! Also Monday night was VERY exciting for Ryan--He finally felt the baby move/kick! He said that he has probably been feeling the baby for a few weeks but wasn't to sure! I was so excited for him-I could tell he was excited too! I didn't want the baby to stop kicking so I took a few sips of Ryan's pop! The baby was really busy for a few hours after that--felt like he was building a fort in there :)
Last night I had my doctors appointment. Since it was snowing like crazy here, I called and got in a little early so that was nice. I actually saw a nurse practitioner yesterday. I need to quit seeing people other then my doctor because I end up really liking them and not wanting to go back to my doc. It's not that I dislike my doctor but I just like the personal touch the Nurse Midwives and NP puts on things. I feel like they take more time with me then my doctor--it might be just because they are nurses too so I feel a little bit more of a "bond" with them! (maybe I should go back to school for 2 more years and become a midwife!) Anyways, she was great--we spent alot of time talking about my Graves and how I really felt about it. We also had the dreaded weight talk--you see I hadn't gained ANY weight and then the last month--BAM 10 pounds. Well, turns out the medication I am on has made me now Hypothyroid so no matter what I eat or how much, I am going to gain weight like crazy. So she called my endocrinologist and he decided to go down on my meds! There is always something! Well, that wasn't the most exciting part of the evening, when she went to measure my "belly" she was like, are you lifting weights, I told her NO--apparently I have some abs-HaHa! Anyways, she measured me 3 times and was like I don't believe this but you are measuring at 30 weeks!!!! (I am not quite 24 weeks people) My first thought was she was wrong and I think that is what she thought to but we decided on a ultrasound to check on things. (I didn't tell Ryan my fear that maybe there were 2 babies in there and they missed one at the level 2 ultrasound-I think he would have fainted) So we got to see the baby again-There is only one, thank goodness and he is still laying butt down facing my back so he better start flipping--hehe--But I am really measuring at 30 weeks-my uterus that is--the baby is just measuring a week ahead. Everything looks really good. My amniotic fluid isn't high or anything so that is good--it just looks like I have a healthy and large placenta and that this is just the way my body grows. No wonder why I haven't really popped--I have been growing up and not out! The baby could be really long too as I was a longer baby measuring at 22 1/2 inches so that could be part of it. Needless to say, I am on a roll for surprising my doctors every month :)
For those of you that have had babies, did you ever measure this far ahead?!
