Daycare!

Last night Ryan and I went to go for a tour and interview of the daycare we were interested in. We were there for 1 1/2 hours! We both immediately feel in love with the place. It is a home daycare but the women has turned the entire downstairs into a child's heaven! There is a small kitchen, a bathroom and HUGE carpeted play area. Julie, the provider, is licensed by the state and is also a head start teacher. She is enrolled with the Lakes and Pines Head start so once our baby is older it will be more of a preschool feel and not just playing at daycare. She showed us the projects that the kids do and I was very impressed. Julie is also enrolled in the food program so the meals are nutritious. She has two staff-one for the morning and one for the afternoon. She also is enrolled in the grandparent foster program so every morning a grandma comes to the daycare for a few hours and holds the babies and reads to the kids! How cute it that!! There was a HUGE backyard full of toys and it was fenced in. There were tons of baby "things." She has swings, walkers, bouncers...ect. She showed us where the baby would sleep and answered the million questions we had. Ryan and I both felt very comfortable with her! The other nice thing is that she only takes two babies even though she can take more. So when our baby would start, there would be a 10month old and our baby. That would be it for infants. The other nice thing is that all we need to provide is the diapers for when our child is there. I am going to be emailing the county employees that bring there kids there and just get a feel for what they think of the daycare. Ryan was ready to just give her the money already last night and have our spot saved! Could finding a daycare really be this easy? :)

Ryan and I are celebrating Valentine's Day a little early. Tonight we are going to the Excel for the World's Toughest Rodeo! I got tickets a little while ago and surprised Ryan--I hope its fun :) Tomorrow Ryan leaves early for a day work-trip and then on Sunday we are going to my little sisters volleyball tournament! Another busy weekend! We hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. That's awesome about the daycare. This is the thing that I would be worried about the most if I were expecting...and it sounds like you've got it made! (Knock on wood). The way you describe the place, I'm kind of jealous...I wish *I* could go there!

I love the adopt-a-grandparent thing. I was seriously like "ooooooooh!" It's so sweet!

  3. That is great that you are able to find someone so reliable and so quickly! I wish I was able to find someone that easily--it was so stressful!
