We have had quite the change in weather today--72 and VERY breezy, sweatshirt weather, which I love! (it wont last too long as there is 90 in the forecast for next week..) With the change of seasons starting, I spent lots of the day going through the kids' clothing and packing away things that don't fit. I don't know why, but, I always get ready sentimental when I do this....It felt like with Jack I was seriously changing things out every 2 months but Lydia is still wearing her 12 month clothing so I am doing it way less often. Enough of my rambling...
We have been busy of course. Last Monday we had their 3 yr and 15 mo well child checks. Lydia weighed in at a whooping 20#8oz and 30 inches long. (12% for weight and 16% for height) Jack was 35# and 39 3/4 inches (80% and 95%!) two on different ends of the growth charts! HA! Both are doing really well with everything. The nurse took Jack off on his own to check hearing and vision. She came back and reported that very few 3 yr olds do as well as Jack did during the testing...I wasn't too surprised with that! He also got his 1st MMR shot as I delayed this one with him and Lydia after reading up on it. He did AWESOME, barely a tear and sat up, asked for his stickers and we were out the door! Lydia did well too, she is ahead in the communication department, talking up a storm. The MD stated he would like 20 words by age two, I think we have lost count of what words Lydia is saying--just this morning she put hi-daddy together. We had to skip her vaccinations as she was wheezing for a cold and he wasn't comfortable with giving her shots.
It feels like even though no one is in school, things have changed since Labor day. Jack is back to bring home worksheets and talking about what they learned in daycare this week. He had a hard time as one of his very best friends at daycare started 4K this year. Luckily it is just 2 days a week but he admitted that he missed Sloane on those days. He is also pretty bummed that he isn't starting school this year. We decided against preschool this year as he will probably do the 4K at the Christian school (which is two FULL days a week--and they ride the busy!) next year. To make things a little better, we enrolled him in fall soccer which starts next week! He is pretty pumped about it!
That is probably enough of my rambling for tonight...here are some pictures to close :)

This one is for daddy...His team won 2nd place at the end of the season softball tournament after having to win 5 games the last day. Ryan injured himself the 1st game on Sunday and continued to play 4 more games. I finally made him go to the doctor for pain meds as I am SURE her has a cracked rib or two. (his doctor agrees but they couldn't really see on the xray as it could have been too early to tell. They wont do anything for him even if the ribs are cracked.) |
