Sunday was our last day at Disney! We decided we wanted to spend the day at Hollywood Studios. This park is a little smaller. We were all maybe getting a little bit burnt out on all things Disney, so we decided a smaller park would be a good way to end our time there. We got there right away when the park opened and to my dad's delight it was Star Wars weekend. (ok, my dad wasn't THAT excited but he does enjoy a good Star Wars movie ;) Jack asked lots of questions about all of the different characters that were through out the park. I couldn't really tell him who was who so Grandpa took care of that. Anyways, since we were there a few nights back, we had an idea where we wanted to go 1st--Toy Story Midway Mania. This is a 4D interactive ride where you get to "shoot" things--obviously something Jack would enjoy. When we were there on Friday night the wait for this ride was over 2hrs long. My parents, Ryan and the kids headed to that ride to get in line while Steph and I went to get Fast Passes for the Tower of Terror! The wait for Toy Story was only 45 mins long but it went really fast since the whole line has things going on. There is Mr. Potato head who talks to people standing in line and little games throughout the line. Jack and Ryan rode together and to be honest, I don't know who enjoyed the ride more, Jack or Ryan!! Lydia even thought that the ride was fun. After this ride, Steph, dad and I headed to the Tower of Terror-no one else was brave enough or big enough for this ride. (I bet if Jack was big enough he SO would have joined us!) Ryan, mom and the kids went to get in line for the Lights, Motors, Action Stunt show. The show was fun and I think the boys all enjoyed it :) We ate lunch at Pizza Planet (from Toy Story), did some shopping and walked around the park. This park is kind of neat--there are different areas that look like New York, Old Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. We watch part of a Star Wars type show and went on a ride called The Great Movie Ride that both kids enjoyed b/c there was alot of action! Finally, Ryan and dad decided to find a shady spot for the parade and we took the kids to see a 20 min show called The Voyage of the Little Mermaid--SO CUTE! Lydia LOVED it! We ended our day there with ice cream and a parade that had all of the Pixar characters in it. Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Monsters Inc, ect. Jack hasn't seen all of these movies but still LOVED the fun parade! It was a good way to end our time at Disney World! As we left the park we were all alittle tired, hot and sad....But, we decided that we would be coming back again! There is so much we still didn't see. We didn't even make to Epcot and our raining day at Animal Kingdom cut things short. Another 1st happened as we left the park--BOTH Lydia and Jack were sound asleep before we got to the car.
After we got back to the resort, the kids napped some more while Ryan and I packed the suitcases. It was so nice to have a washing machine in our room--I came home with only 1 load of laundry to do! While I was packing Jack asked me where we were going, I told him we were going home. His reply was "No, we are going home. This is where we live now, we live at DISNEY!" We spent the rest of the evening at the pool, relaxing. we had dinner poolside from the resort restaurant and enjoyed watching the kids feed the ducks, dance to the steel drum music that was playing and running around in their PJs! All in all a great way to end our trip to Florida.
The next morning we left for the airport around 630. We had to return the carseats that we rented but the guy was almost an hour late, making us very rushed to get checked in and feed the kids some breakfast before we boarded. I think the kids were both tired, hungry and could sense our hurriedness so they were pretty cranky and Jack had his 1st temper tantrum in the airport. I am sure the people waiting to board the plane with us were NOT excited about our kids being on the same flight. Both Ryan and I were a little wore out already and we hadn't even boarded. (thank goodness for Stephanie--she really helped with the kids!) Luckily, they both settled down and were total angels on the plane. Both of the slept most of the flight!!
Jack is still talking about his time at Disney World--asking to go back every so often and pretending he is watching one of the parades (one of his fav things while there.) In fact at his sharing day yesterday, he brought his ears, autograph book, stuffed Mickey and a picture from our breakfast with everyone in it. I know someday we will go back there--may be a while but we will be back! :)
