I need to start writing these faster--I am afraid I am going to forget something!
Day three at Disney was our day at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I was really looking forward to spending the day here! Our morning was a little hectic getting out but we got to enter the park earlier than everyone else for our Character breakfast reservations! It was kind of nice to be in the park was no one else. We got to take our time walking to "Africa" where our breakfast at Donald's Safari buffet was. Once we arrived at the Tusker House restaurant, you could just feel Jack's excitement. We got our table and patiently waited for Mickey Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck and Goofy to make their way around to our table. Jack didn't want to leave incase he would miss them....we were able to convince him to go get some food eventually and just as he was taking his first bite, Donald Duck showed up. What I LOVED the most about seeing Donald and Daisy Duck was whenever they would walk by Lydia would yell "QUACK. QUACK!!" So funny. I think we got it on video camera once...Anyways, we enjoyed our breakfast as all of the characters made their way around the restaurant. Jack had his handy autograph book available and we took video and pictures of alot of the breakfast. I know we missed a few cute things like Donaldrandomly coming up to Jack and tickling him and Mickey playing peek a boo with Lydia but those are some good memories neither Ryan and I will forget. We ended breakfast watching Jack and Auntie Stephanie dance with Goofy to African music using fun instruments!
After breakfast we decided to head to Kilmanjaro Safaris. This ride was awesome. It was a 20min-Safari like excursion. We saw tons of animals and both kids loved pointing them out to all of us. Lydia could easily see the elephants and the Rhinos which she was obsessed with! Pointing like crazy saying "ook, ook!" When we got off of this ride, we decided to head to Camp-Minnie-Mickey to meet up with some more characters that we hadn't met yet...unfortunately on our way there is started raining so we decided to watch a fun "broadway-like" musical of the Lion King. Another 30 min show that both kids sat through great! When the audience was asked what a giraffe sounds like, no one really knew. So, the cast member said they sound like a sheep and out of the blue Lydia yelled out "BAAA." Smart girl we have here.(She already would say Baa if you asked her what a sheep says) When we left the show, it was POURING rain. We found cover and bought $50 worth of ponchos---not kidding, $50!! But, the rain wasn't letting up and we were all soaked so we decided to head back to the resort. :( I was a little bummed as I was really looking forward to Animal Kingdom but there is always next time, right?!
We took it easy the rest of the day. Both kids took three hour naps, Ryan took a nap and I did laundry in our room. Luckily the rain stopped around 4 so we had dinner and decided to make our way to Hollywood Studios for our last nighttime show, Fantasmic! When we got there the park was really quiet due to the rainy day so we made our way to Pixar Place to find Woody and Buzz!! On our way we met up with a green army man from Toy Story! Jack thought he was pretty funny. We also saw lots of interesting people as it was Star Wars weekend...yippie :) My parents took Lydia to find a seat for the show and we waited in the 45 min line to see Woody and Buzz. Luckily Disney knew these two were going to be a hit so they made the waiting line fun. It was like walking though the Toy Story movies. We finally got our turn and IT.WAS.SO.NEAT! Woody and Buzz took their time with Jack, danced around with him, signed his autograph book and took loads of pictures. Jack was in HEAVEN!
We ended our night watching Fantasmic! This show was a little on the scary side. It was about being in Mickey's dream and the villains taking them over with Mickey winning in the end. There was a dragon and fire and some scary music but Jack never once said he was scared. He just watched in awe and when it was over he asked if we could watch it again. That kid amazes me....So does Lydia, the little stinker was awake the entire show! She fell asleep on our way to car but Jack made it all the way back to the hotel before he crashed that night. Even with the rain, it was a pretty good day!
