HI Everyone! I don't usually update this close together but I have some VERY exciting news! Last night I went to my 36 week appointment (i really was 35 4/7 weeks). Everything looks great and she confirmed that the baby has definitely dropped down into the pelvis. She wasn't going to check me yet because I really wasn't quite 36 weeks but I told her I have been having some cramping on and off all day so she changed her mind! Apparently the cramping I have been experiencing is actually contractions! For those of you that don't really know, your body has to do three things --1. your cervix needs to thin out 100% (effacement) 2. your cervix needs to soften and 3. you need to dilate to 10cm. Anyways, after she checked me she was surprise and said your body is already well on it's way--I am effaced/thinned to 70%, my cervix is "very" soft and and I just starting to dilate. She was also able to feel the baby's head and said that he is putting LOTS of pressure down there so things may really get going. She flat out told me that I will not be making it to my due date and that I could maybe expect this baby in the next 2 weeks or so!! I thought I was nesting last weekend....you should have seen me last night after my appointment. I was busy packing the baby's diaper bag to bring to the hospital and started thinking about what I need to pack for myself! I have also been pretty busy planning things for my maternity leave at work. I have 15 clients I see at least monthly, sometimes twice a month so that takes some major organizing!
