I am still amazed by all of the new words and sentences Jack is coming up with daily. He is addicted to "the buzz" (Toy Story) more than Elmo which is somewhat of a relief! He is also starting to really talk in phrases or sentences. For example, last night I was holding him and Ryan was tickling him--Jack looked at me and said "Daddy getting me!!, Stop Dada!" It was pretty cute. Unfortunately many of his sentences start with--I want--but usually when we ask him to he will say please! (well it is more like please and thank you all in one!) He also now refuses to sit in the highchair at home so he sits at the table with us--it is a bit messier but we are dealing. One good thing is Jack still will eat just about anything we give him--the other night we had omelets with venison, green peppers, mushrooms and onions and Jack ate every last bite!! I am so glad he got his dads appetite :) Another characteristic that is developing in Jack is determination and independence. We have started using timeouts on occasion for certain behaviors and it seems to be going really well. (he really only gets maybe 1 or 2 timeouts a week) In fact, daycare had to put Jack in his first time out this week. He was hitting another toddler over a toy and wouldn't stop so time out it was. He must had really learned from that time out because that night he was talking about his friends at daycare and when he got to Sloane (the girl he hit), he told us I hit, not nice!! I could not believe that he actually remembered and had the vocabulary to tell us that, either could Julie, our daycare provider! I am sure he will get a few more time outs during his toddler years ;) Even though it is challenging to have a strong willed toddler, I wouldn't want it any other way!
