Hello Everyone!
Man I feel like I will be a wealth of information today :) Where to start!? Well, first of all, Ryan has been keeping himself very busy with getting everything in place that needs to be taken care of after getting laid off. He was lucky enough to find pretty decent insurance for himself and the baby by going with a private agent. It really was a relief to us because we were going to have to pay $700 more a month in insurance for just Ryan and the baby to join my plan.....so needless to say we are very happy about that! I know that Ryan is already getting bored but starting next week, my sister Emily is going to be keeping him busy. Luckily, Emily and her fiance Jason wanted to do lots of remodeling around their house so Ryan got the job! It is nice that they thought of us and that Ryan is able to help them!
Last night I had an ultrasound and doctors appointment. Since I have been measuring a bit larger then I should my doc wanted to check the fluid levels again and see where the baby is measuring at this point and time. The good thing is that in the last 2 visits, my fundal height has not changed so I am measuring 35cm and I am 31 weeks and 5 days along....so not as bad as it has been!! The ultrasound was really kind of fun! The tech was super nice and took her time letting us watch our little guy move around and kick me like crazy...it was different to see him kick and feel it at the same time. She also just got some new stuff to take 3D pictures so she played with that a bit. We got a really good picture of his face and hand (which he still likes to rest on his forehead). The picture looks so neat...you can see all of his features his lips, eyes, nose, which looks just like Ryans, I am not kidding! She was even able to show us that he has a little bit of hair! It was very cool! She then did all the measurements she needed to do. The fluid level is perfectly normal and everything is looking good. At this point and time, his weight is about 4lbs 13 ounces! That puts him on track to be between an 8-9lb baby! YIKES! She said that these can be off by a bit so he could be bigger or smaller. I am hoping he isn't bigger :) After the ultrasound Ryan and I headed to my appointment. Since my doc is so hard to schedule appointments with I saw the nurse practitioner this time. I like seeing her but this visit I felt like she was a little too jumpy about a few things that I have going on. First of all she kind of freaked out about my measurements, my BP was up a little bit again (could it stress maybe...I am betting yes!) and I had some VERY slight puffiness in my feet. Anyways, she kind of had Ryan and I all freaked out about bedrest since she was pretty much telling me that I am going to end up spending the last month at home! But then she went and talked to my OB who was really laid back about everything and just wanted to check some labs and sent me home. I am going to be seeing my OB next week just as a follow up....maybe no more seeing the NPs as they seem to really freak out about my added complications with graves disease......
Tonight is our last night of childbirth classes...I am really looking forward to being done and I am sure Ryan is too. I have been super bored with alot of the information but I think it was a good class for us to go through together. The class brought up a few things that we needed to discuss before I go into labor!! Anyways, this is long enough--Have a good rest of the week!
